’12-13 update: The relationship between TSR and points

I’ve had a few people ask for the correlation between TSR and points. I’ve done some much more insightful work here (I really recommend reading that if you’re looking for a TSR/points primer) but here’s a simple updated plot with the ’12-13 season incorporated.

I’ve also had people asking about converting the (very) early ’13-14 TSR’s to expected points. Whilst it’s early (although the values should be pretty stable in a months time) the equation for a Premiership team can be calculated by dividing the coefficients by 38, and multiplying by the number of games played.

i.e. Exp points = ((4.51 x TSR) – 0.88) * number of games played
