  1. Any chance of getting a plot of shots for / against per season? It would be interesting to see the numbers that contribute to each of the TSRs, particularly to see whether the higher TSR under AVB is due to more shots taken or less conceded.

  2. As the volume of shots in the Premiership has been increasing I’ll give the raw numbers of shots in Spurs’ matches, and the %age of all Premiership shots that were taken during Spurs’ matches.

Season | Shots in Spurs’ matches | %age of total Prem shots in Spurs’ matches
    1 | 846 | 10.0
    2 | 852 | 10.4
    3 | 879 | 10.3
    4 | 928 | 10.5
    5 | 842 | 10.0
    6 | 793 | 9.7
    7 | 831 | 9.7
    8 | 913 | 10.4
    9 | 930 | 10.1
    10 | 1047 | 11.3
    11 | 1040 | 11.0
    12 | 1071 | 10.9
    13 | 953 | 10.0
    14 | 238 | 10.6 *prior to Newcastle match

Era | Shots/38 Spur’s matches | %age of Prem shots in Spurs matches
    Pre AVB | 914 | 10.4
    Under AVB | 943 | 10.1

Short answer – there aren’t more shots in Spurs matches under AVB. Spurs have been better at both increasing the number of shots they take and reducing the number their opponents take.
